Janie & her Prince

Once upon a time there was a girl named Janie.  At the age of 41, she found herself on her own for the very first time in her life.  The newly single mother of three had a place of her own, lots of time to devote to reading in the evenings, and a yearning in her heart to find her place in this big ol' world.

Then, one day, a Prince in a Stetson came along.

His name was Eddie Dale and he was different than anyone Janie had ever known. He was a Cowboy, a former Sailor, a Writer, a fellow Texas History buff, and a True Friend. But, above all, he loved Janie just the way she was and made her feel like a Princess.

The Prince taught Janie how to live again. He took her to her first rodeo and dance. He wrote stories for her and encouraged her to write her own. He cooked for her, everything from grilled steaks and lobsters to fried chicken.  He loved her kids like his own.  He even taught her and her boys the fine art of toobin' down the Guadalupe River.

Then, one night, he reserved the back dining room at Perini's and, in front of a roaring fire, he asked her to spend the rest of her life with him.

The rest is History. Janie and her Prince went to the JP's office and said their "I do's". She moved to Pampa, where the Prince worked, and they bought a house in the country, which they lovingly turned into a home.

After a few years, they realized they really wanted to be closer to family and friends. Through a strange turn of events, they were able to realize their dream and relocate to Abilene. They found a cozy little cottage that needed some TLC and began another new chapter in their lives.

All in all, Life is good and getting better every day for Janie and her Prince. They spend time with Family and spoil their Grandkids. They go dancing and enjoy rodeos and, occasionally, a George Strait concert. They dote on their three dogs and invite friends over for grilling.  Each day is a new adventure.

They are truly living their "happily ever after".
